Manchester United news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will match a losing streak last achieved in 1996 if his side are beaten by Everton

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is facing his first real test as Manchester United manager with his side in the middle of a poor run of form.

They won 14 of his first 17 games in charge and suffered just one defeat in that time.

The honeymoon period for Solskjaer seems to be well and truly over with them struggling for form in the Premier League and losing 4-0 on aggregate to Barcelona in the Champions League.

In their last league match at home, they scraped through 2-1 against West Ham United thanks to two Paul Pogba penalties.

They have also lost their last two Premier League away matches, suffering losses to Arsenal and Wolves 2-0 and 2-1 respectively.

United have not lost three away games in a row in the league since 1996. On that occasion they lost 2-0 to Liverpool, 3-1 to Leeds and 4-1 to Tottenham.

Solskjaer̢۪s side will need to pick up a win against Everton on Sunday to prevent that from happening again, with commentary live on talkSPORT for the 1.30pm kick-off.

United have a good record at Goodison Park, though, and have won two of the last three league meetings there.

Anthony Martial will be relishing playing against Everton as he has netted in the last three games between the side.

The last player to score four in a row against the same opposition was Wayne Rooney against Hull in November 2014.

Vincent Kompany has revealed to talkSPORT he WILL be playing at Manchester City next season. The big Belgian is City's longest serving player by far - he has spent ten years with the club and has been rewarded with a testimonial match next season.
