Peter Crouch has made a hilarious comparison between himself and the PFA Player of the Year trophy.
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk beat Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero, Sadio Mane and Eden Hazard to win the award on Sunday.
The trophy resembles the long legs of 6ft 7ins Crouch, a similarity which was pointed out by the Burnley striker.
With a picture of the award attached, he tweeted: “Extremely proud to be the Pfa player of the year trophy.â€
Van Dijk joined Liverpool in a £75million deal from Southampton in January 2018 and has been an ever-present at the heart of the Premier League‘s tightest defence this campaign.
The 27-year-old has helped Liverpool keep 19 clean sheets and concede only 20 times, while also scoring three goals.
