Manchester United transfer news: Napoli reject £95million bid by Red Devils for Kalidou Koulibaly – reports

Manchester United have reportedly had a £95million bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly rejected, according to reports.

A huge overhaul at Old Trafford could happen this summer following their failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

It is understood centre-back Koulibaly is near the top of their summer wishlist.

However, Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira has claimed United’s potential world record bid for Koulibaly has been turned down by the Italian club.

Virgil van Dijk is the world’s most expensive defender following his £75m move to Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018.

Koulibaly has been central to Napoli becoming Juventus’ closest challengers for the Serie A title.

The Senegal international helped Carlo Ancelotti’s side keep 13 clean sheets and made 31 blocks while also winning 67 per cent of his tackles.

We love a fantasy XI here at talkSPORT, and McCoist and Brazil had a right good chuckle when we celebrated National Pie Week, which is apparently a thing, with a hilarious Pie XI.
