Tottenham’s new stadium hosted its first ever football match on Sunday afternoon, with their Under-18s taking on Southampton.
The youth clash was the first of two Test Events the £1billion structure must hold before Spurs’ senior side can open the ground with their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on April 3.
And, with the first ever match played at the stadium, there was also a first ever goal.

And the player who has written themselves in the history books by finding the back of the net before anyone else – J’Neil Bennett.
Bennett, the 17-year-old winger, opened the scoring against Southampton after just 11 minutes, with a lovely curling finish after he cut in from the left wing.
It was certainly a goal worthy of the occasion, and Bennett went running off into the corner to celebrate with his team-mates.

The second and final Test Event at the new stadium will be held next Saturday, with a Spurs legends team taking on Inter Forever.
Four days later, Crystal Palace will be the first visitors to the stunning ground in a competitive fixture, with Tottenham holding an opening ceremony before the Premier League clash kicks-off.
